BETHANY THOMAS WINS CLUB OCTOBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

BETHANY THOMAS WINS CLUB OCTOBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

Philip Stanley9 Nov - 19:59

Bethany's work rate and goals scoops her the award this month

A huge congratulations to Bethany Thomas for winning the Linslade Galaxy FC Player of the month award for October! Bethany plays for our U13 Panthers team.

Regional Sales Manager (Midlands), Nick Gibbons, from Gartec, the trophy sponsor, and who chose the winner out of the team players of the month, said, "Playing centre midfield is a tough gig, you can easily get accused of not tracking back and not doing your "work". To be assisting from wide areas as a starting cm is especially difficult when timing runs and delivering after long distance runs into the wide areas. Offering support to your teammates across the whole game takes a real engine and to back this up with goals on top is especially impressive. Congratulation Bethany and keep up the great work"

Bethany was put forward for the award by her team coaches for the following reasons:

"After joining us this summer Bethany has settled really quickly and immediately shown her skill and ability by becoming a crucial player for the team who has a relentless work rate and runs her heart out every game. She has been playing in a central midfield role but often overlaps the winger in front of her to create extra width and deliver dangerous crosses into the box, she has also worked hard to develop her distribution game from the centre and has contributed with both goals and assists throughout since joining the panthers. I am certain this will continue as the season progresses!."

There were plenty of other excellent performances in matches and training across the Club throughout October and these are recognised by many of the coaches, who put forward these players as their team's player of the month.

Sophie De Niese (U8 Inter)
"Sophie scored 10 goals in the 2 games we played in October and also had several assists. Sophie has shown some great decision making knowing when to pass or when to shoot and a real hunger to win the ball back from the opposition. Sophie's attitude, work rate and ability makes her a great team player and a pleasure to coach".

Becky Ngathe (U8 Meerkats)
"As the Mighty Meerkats marched on with our great record this season, Becky has surprised and impressed us all with how she has adapted her role in the team this season. She's complemented her trademark power and strength with an increasingly creative, playmaking side - contributing a number of assists through some sharp, intelligent passing, while also scoring four crucial goals during October. Becky has grown into a real leader - showing kindness to teammates and opponents alike, and using her voice on the pitch to help keep the team organised, she recently did brilliantly to adjust her game mid-match, helping swing momentum our way. Becky is a talented player who works hard in training, a well-deserved award for a player who embodies everything we love about this team - commitment, teamwork, and a bit of cheeky charm!"

Wilf Rattigan (U9 Titans)
"Wilf has consistently led the team with pride, positivity, and outstanding leadership for someone so young. October was an excellent month for him, contributing with goals, assists, and an all-round influence that's lifted the team's performances. A true example of what it means to be a Titan".

Jamie Smith (U10 Atletico)
"Jamie is our main goalkeeper. He is a vital part of the team. He plays in a tough position. There is no hiding place. However, Jamie never shies away from the challenge. He stands big, bold and tall. He has made some unbelievable saves throughout the season and has kept us competing in many games. He is getting better and better".

Max Harmer (U10 Rojas)
"Max has had a great October, always working hard for the team and fighting to win the ball back. He’s been strong in the tackles and sharp and alert in the box, grabbing himself a few goals. He’s always happy to take direction from the coaches, never complaining when asked to play out of position and is a popular member of the team, keep it up Max!"

Robyn (Bob) Johnson (U11 Bobcats)
"Bob has been outrageous in October, growing so much as a player this season. Her controlled aggression to get the ball back in midfield then ability to progress with the ball has been integral in helping us winning 3 of the 4 games this month. Her battling spirit is setting an example for the team".

Adam Bomba (U11 Roma)
"Well done Adam on a superb start to the season! Adam has been outstanding for Roma putting in some outstanding performances. Adam’s great attitude, determination, strength and desire to win tackles has earned him Roma’s player of the month. We've come up against some very good teams with opposition strikers finding themselves on the end of some strong defensive tackles! If Adam finds himself being the last man the sliding tackle is often very well timed and executed. Adam has settled into the team very well in his first season with Roma and is a pleasure to work with. His teammates all think very highly of him and he should be very proud of how hard he's working for the team. Well done Adam – well deserved!"

Ewan Jones (U11 Wanderers)
"Ewan has been a consistent rock at the heart of the team, reading the game superbly, leading by example, and putting his body on the line for the success of his teammates. His never-say-die attitude and tireless work to break up play and drive us forward in transition have been outstanding. Well done, Ewan, a true leader on and off the pitch!"

Stanley Cunningham (U12 Barca)
"This is Stanley’s second season now Barca and he has come on so much over the last year, Stanley is on a hot streak at the moment and can’t stop scoring, he has also worked on tracking back and helping his team mates to defend as well as attack, well done Stanley keep up the good work".

Adam Moufakkir El Khili (U12 Bayern)
"This month's Linslade Galaxy Bayern Player of the Month award goes to Adam, whose performances have been nothing short of outstanding. From the first whistle of the season, Adam has shown incredible focus, determination, and passion — qualities that have lifted not just his own game, but those around him too. Across both training and matches, Adam has been a model of consistency. His intensity in training has set the tone for the squad, while his energy and drive in games have been key to the team's strong start. His leadership qualities truly shone through in the final game of the month — a crucial 2–0 cup victory — where he stepped up brilliantly in Josh's absence to help guide the team into the next round.

In a match defined by solid defending and determination, Adam was relentless, repeatedly testing the opposition's back line with dangerous balls into the box. His persistence paid off when one of his deliveries caused issues and forced their otherwise excellent central defender into scoring an own goal for 1–0. Not content with that, Adam then sealed the win in style, powering home a thundering header from a perfectly delivered Albie corner to make it two.

Adam's commitment, attitude and sheer enjoyment of the game have been evident every week. He's playing with confidence and freedom, showing great teamwork and an infectious enthusiasm that embodies the spirit of Linslade Galaxy Bayern. It's been a superb month for Adam — full of hard work, quality performances and vital contributions when it mattered most. The whole team and coaching staff are proud of his efforts".

Izzy Falk (U13 Jaguars)
"Izzy has had a fantastic start to the season providing support for her teammates all over the pitch and pitching in with a good goal tally. Her tireless work rate and skill make her a handful for every opponent. She works hard in training as well and is there for everyone. Great work Izzy!"

Maddie Ellaway (U13 Lions)
"Maddie has started as the new goalkeeper at Lions and has impressed the whole team with her consistently excellent displays. Maddie is a positive communicator and is always talking to her defence and helping the team to stay organised. This helps to set the tone for the rest of the Lions who have been working on improving their teamwork and communication in what is essentially a brand new team. Maddie has also been working on having the right starting position, which means that she is always ready to come out and gather crosses, or fearlessly come off her line to pick up through balls. Maddie is such a superb and likeable player to have in the team as she will happily chat to anyone and immediately puts other players at ease which is helping to make the Lions better as a team week on week".

James Manning (U13 Porto)
"James has been a consistent performer in defence this month. His tireless efforts earned praise from the referee in one game and as opposition player of the match in another. Calm on the ball and hardworking throughout, James's positive attitude and relentless work rate is a key driver for the team".

Ava Aspinall (U14 Lynxes)
"When our regular goalkeeper decided to leave, Ava didn't hesitate—she stepped forward and volunteered to take on the role, showing true team spirit and courage. Normally a commanding centre back, and equally strong when playing in midfield, Ava has always been a player who gives 100% in every position she takes on. Her outstanding performance in goal against MK City Topaz earned her a well-deserved joint Player of the Match, proving that her commitment and adaptability make her an invaluable member of the team. At Lynxes, we value players who step up when the team needs them most—and Ava embodies exactly that. Goalkeeping isn't for everyone, but Ava showed what it means to put the team first. Well done, Ava!"

Well done to all the nominated team player of the months - keep up the great work!
