I know that we're in the middle of the summer break and everyone's looking forward to the upcoming season. However, I wanted to give a special note of recognition to one player from last season, who scooped the Wanderers Managers Player of the Season trophy - Ewan Jones.

The managers player of the season is always a tough one to choose. I look for someone who doesn't just play well, but someone who embodies everything I ask of the team, effort, intelligence, consistency, leadership, heart

This season, there's one player who has consistently delivered in every single area, and honestly, it felt like having three players in one.

So, for being the engine, and often the heartbeat of this team, I'm proud to name Ewan Jones my Manager's Player of the Season.

Ewan covers every blade of grass. One minute he's breaking up an attack on the edge of our box, the next he's supporting an attack on the opposite end. He protects the back line, supports the wingers, plays from left to right, and never seems to run out of steam.

He plays the game, reads the game, he controls it, and he does it all with a quiet determination that lifts everyone around him.

As a manager, you dream of players like Ewan. Players who understand the ask. Who gives everything on the field and in training which is important, Ewan takes pride in doing it well, every single week. He show's immense respect to his fellow players and coaches, without fail I'll always receive a fist pump or a hello, immediate respect for his coaches, which shows discipline, and he plays the same way, with discipline, respect but with a lions heart.
