GALAXY TEAMS SHINE IN WINNING WEEKEND OF FOOTBALL

Philip Stanley22 Nov - 20:52

6 wins out of 6 for our competitive mixed teams brightens up dreary November day

Linslade Galaxy's ethos is to be a friendly and family club - winning is not everything, but an added bonus that comes after the players enjoying themselves on the pitch in a safe and fun environment. However, as the days get shorter and the November dreary weather continues it's always good to celebrate success to brighten the mood!

And this week-end was certainly one worth celebrating with all six competitive mixed teams running out victors today.

First up are our two U12 teams. U12 Bayern are flying high second in Division 5 and playing some lovely football with only one loss all season. Today they won 4-2 at home to Buckingham FC Youth U12 Rangers to continue their good form. Meanwhile U12 Barca have had a more inconsistent start to the season with three wins and three loses after today's 3-1 home win against M &DH Clapham Sports. This puts Barca firmly in mid-table but definitely with eyes looking upwards.

U13 Porto have found life tougher in Division 2 than expected, but today they showed their true class with a dominant 6-1 away win against Stoke Hammond Youth U13 Warriors. As a result they climb to seventh in the table.

In the U15 age group U15 Sporting did not play today. This left U15 Spartak and U15 Borussia who both had good wins. Spartak were victorious against a tough Crawley Green Youth U15 Madrid side, holding on to win 3-2 and taking them back to third place in Division 1. Borussia became the second Galaxy side to score 6 goals today with a 6-3 victory away at Tattenhoe U15 Greens. This takes Borrusia up to 6th in the Division 6 table, but only 4 points from top.

Finally, and by no means least, U16 Ajax were clear victors scoring five away at Olney U16 Ospreys with only one goal coming the other way. This takes Ajax up to 5th in the Division 4 table.

Next Saturday many of these Galaxy teams return to Cup action and it's certainly hope this fine form can turn into long cup runs!
