A huge congratulations to Isabella Rodriguez for winning the Linslade Galaxy FC Player of the month award for September! Isabella plays for our U13 Jaguars team.
Marketing Coordinator, Natasha Grobler, from Gartec, the trophy sponsor, and who chose the winner out of the team players of the month, said, "I chose Isabella Rodriguez (Bella) from the U13 Jaguars as this month's Club Player of the Month because it sounds like she has truly made an incredible start to the season. Her strong performances on the pitch and natural leadership have helped her team remain undefeated, but what really stood out was the feedback regarding her attitude off the field. It sounds like Bella is someone who leads by example, encouraging her teammates, supporting the coaches, and showing real commitment at every training session. I think her positive influence and dedication makes her a very deserving choice for this month's award."
Bella was put forward for the award by her team coaches for the following reasons:
"Bella has had a fantastic start to the season adapting to life in division one with ease. A no nonsense defender, Bella has marshalled her side to an undefeated start to the season, leading from the front, with some imperious defensive performances. But whilst her match performances have led the way - it is her commitment to training that has really helped her stand out. She has led the team in fitness sessions inspiring her team mates to push themselves and she has helped the coaching team by taking on the warm up to ensure everyone is ready to go at the start of training. A natural leader - Bella’s start to the season has been nothing short of inspirational."
There were plenty of other excellent performances in matches and training across the Club throughout September and these are recognised by many of the coaches, who put forward these players as their team's player of the month.
Arlo Hawes (U8 Inter)
"Arlo has obviously worked very hard over the Summer to improve his ball striking, passing and ball control and I've even seen a few drag backs and a bit of dribbling in training and the first few matches. Arlo is now getting a lot more involved in games and has been tirelessly leading a high press to win the ball back from the opposition defence in games as well as some great hold up play shielding the ball from the opponents and bringing the midfielders into play when he has played as a striker. It's great to see him growing in confidence and starting to make some valuable contributions to the team and I'm sure we're going to see some massive improvements this season as a result of the hard work that Arlo puts into every training session.".
Helena Varey (U8 Meerkats)
"In a month of huge collective success, with the team maintaining a really high level of performance and continuing our remarkable turnaround, Helena stood out for the influence she’s had when it’s mattered most. Whether it’s a strong tackle to get us back on the front foot, a crucial goal when the game was tight, or setting up teammates by applying her training so well, Helena has consistently made a difference. She’s scored four excellent goals, but it’s her all-round impact - energy, teamwork, and determination - that has been even more valuable to the team. A fantastic start to the season, both in training and on matchdays."
Eddie Graves (U9 Titans)
"Eddie's energy on the pitch is infectious; he gives his all every game and lifts those around him. His technique continues to improve wonderfully, and he's developing into a fine winger (though he's capable of shining in any position!). Eddie's biggest progress this month has come through his distribution and finishing, leading to some key assists and some excellent goals. Well done, Eddie, a fantastic month's work. Keep it up!"
Harry Maclean (U10 Atletico)
"Harry has started the season off strong both in terms of training and at matches. His confidence is growing, and we are starting to see Harrys quick footwork and quick thinking coming to the forefront more and more. Keep it up Harry."
Kimberley Elliot (U10 Leopards)
"Kimberley always turns up to training with a smile on her face and continues to develop into a superb footballer."
Jack Braud (U10 Rojas)
"Jack is the newest member of the Rojas team, slotting straight into the defensive line. Cool and calm under pressure, decisive and strong in his tackles he has played a crucial role in helping us keep two clean sheets in the first three games, picking up a man of the match award along the way. Jack has settled in instantly and is a popular member of the team, and to top it all off he always has a smile on his face! Keep up the good work Jack!"
Emilia Rodriguez (U11 Bobcats)
"Emilia followed up her first hattrick with a Player of the Match performance in the month. Emilia's 'never quit' attitude and resilience sets a standard that all the girls admire and look to match."
Zach Olding (U11 Wanderers)
"Zach has made an excellent start to the season, showing real quality in the final third with some composed and clinical finishing. Beyond his goals, his all-round play has been impressive, particularly his transitions between defence and attack, where he's demonstrated great awareness and energy. Zach has been putting in consistent effort to improve his technique, and that hard work is paying off on the pitch. A well-deserved hat trick in September was the perfect reward for his progress. Well done, Zach, a fantastic month and a great platform to build on. Onwards and upwards!"
Joseph Jeeves (U12 Barca)
"This is Joseph's 2nd season now with Barca and has made a strong start to the season, he has come back with a good attitude and is training hard plus putting in the effort. Even though we have only had one game this season Joseph proved a worthy winner of player of the match, Keep up the good work Joseph and keep the shots flying in!"
Albie Harrison (U12 Bayern)
"A huge congratulations to Albie Harrison, our Player of the Month for September! Albie has been in fantastic form throughout September, scoring an incredible 10 goals, chalking up some assists and showing brilliant commitment in every game. Albie’s hard work in training, positive attitude and teamwork have really stood out. Well done, Albie — keep up the great effort and keep enjoying your football!".
Heidi Woollard (U13 Lions)
"For some players moving position takes time, but for Heidi switching from right wing to central attacking midfielder has yielded immediate rewards for her and the team. Heidi is now more involved in the game and we are seeing the benefits of Heidi getting into dangerous positions with her scoring several goals and setting up several teammates this month. Heidi has also become more physical and assertive in both training and matches which only serves to further increase her influence on the pitch. Heidi also captained this team to the team's first win of the season with a tireless player of the match performance. We are delighted to see Heidi's confidence and presence on the pitch improve and are excited to see how the season will continue to develop for Heidi.".
Maddie Bingham (U13 Panthers)
"Maddie gets the nomination for the panthers as she has got her season off to a great start. Maddie has adapted her game from defender to striker due to her pace, tenacity and willingness to chase from the front. She started off the first game of the season sceptical about the new position but came away with a brace to win the game for the panthers and has gone from strength to strength since then. Always playing with a smile on her face and really taking into her stride that she is playing and learning a whole new position over last season has really stood out this month."
Callum Swaby (U13 Porto)
"Callum's had a good start to the season, showing smart movement and tidy passing. His crosses and through balls have created real chances, especially from set pieces. He looks refreshed, playing with confidence and helping connect our attacking play across the pitch with his deliveries."
Chiara Carrozza (U14 Lynxes)
"Chiara always listens to what we ask and nails it, week after week after week. We have had to play Chiara in a few different positions already this season but she takes to it like a duck to water. She has some fancy foot work skills that more often than not see her come away from tackles with the ball. She's not afraid to get stuck in and has great awareness of the game to look for the right pass. After every game we can guarantee that she has left everything on the pitch and has given the team her all. She is a dedicated Lynx who consistently shows up for her team, rarely missing training or a match. She is a pleasure to have on the team, always polite, respectful and a great team player. Well done Chiara."
Well done to all the nominated team player of the months - keep up the great work!
