KAI WARING WINS CLUB MARCH PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

KAI WARING WINS CLUB MARCH PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

Philip Stanley19 Apr - 09:56

Kai's versatility and energy scoops him this month's award

A huge congratulations to Kai Waring for winning the Linslade Galaxy FC Player of the month award for March! Kai plays for our U8 Inter team.

Regional Sales Manager (Midlands), Nick Gibbons, from Gartec, the trophy sponsor, and who chose the winner out of the team players of the month, said, "As being a fellow manager of a children's team I know the fun of coaching children. However, I also am aware of how children change quickly and Kai at the under 8 Inter sounds like he has made a difference In centre midfield having come out of goal. Good luck to him out on pitch and congratulations on winning player of the month".

Kai was put forward for the award by her team coaches for the following reasons:

"Kai has been part time goalkeeper for the team and has always been brave diving onto the ball or just getting some part of his body in the way to stop the ball going into the net, but he has really stepped up his game when he has been playing out in midfield over the last month. Kai has shown exceptional fitness and energy on the pitch to constantly close down and press opposing players when they have the ball and has been instrumental in breaking down opposition attacks and starting Inter counter attacks. In addition, he has greatly improved his ball striking in training and now also possesses a strong shot when he gets within shooting distance."

There were plenty of other excellent performances in matches and training across the Club throughout March and these are recognised by many of the coaches, who put forward these players as their team's player of the month.

Clara Beckett (U8 Meerkats)
"Clara Beckett takes our Meerkat March Player of the Month award, not just for her performances on the pitch, but as a reflection of her all-round dedication to training, which is really helping her develop as an outfield player. Remarkably, she hasn’t missed a single session since joining the side, setting a fantastic standard for her teammates.

This month, Clara scored her second ever goal, hot on the heels of her first, with a great strike against Tattenhoe. Alongside that, she continues to support the team in goal, producing some excellent saves - only briefly overshadowed by getting herself stuck in the Sandy net at one point! Clara shows no fear when it comes to the physical side of the game, and we’re continuing to build her confidence on the ball to match the strong technical ability she shows consistently in training. Off the pitch, Clara is the ultimate social animal, during one game this month she was caught trying to organise play dates during a key interval of the match, but often one of the first to check on anyone who picks up a knock. A thoroughly deserved award, well done, Clara!"

Rohan Oliver (U10 Atletico)
"Over the last few weeks in training and the last few games we have seen a real shift in Rohan’s touch and thinking. Rohan has always been tenacious and hard working. He never gives defenders a moment’s piece. However, what we are starting to see is a level of control and thinking. When to close down, when to run, taking a good touch, bringing others into play, his finishing. He is definitely maturing into a good all rounder. His development has been incredible. Keep it up Rohan".

Albert Adekunle (U10 Rojas)
"Always working tirelessly and giving 100% Albert is a example to his peers. He happily takes on any role and gives everything whether it's closing down to tackle or charging towards goal. Keep up the good work Albert!"

Mia Adlem (U11 Bobcats)
"We have started to pick up wins again through March, with our defensive unit being key to that and building from a solid base. It's really difficult to pick out any individual, as we have so many that are performing well; however Mia has been so consistent for us and it's very easy to forget she is one of a number of players playing up a year, while she ushers yet another striker out of play or backheels her way out of trouble at the back (not sure my 43 year-old heart will take too many more of them). That's as well as her school team making a national final, has been a brilliant March for Mia".

Adam El Housny (U12 Bayern)
"Adam has had a superb month, training with intensity & purpose which is reflected in both the games we’ve had this month. In the first game Adam starred, getting a goal from a power header from Albie’s whipped in corner. Goal scorer then turned provider as he got a good assist, setting up Giuseppe. Adam’s work rate and never giving up shone in the 3-0 win over Great Linford Lions.

The second match of the month saw us take on the league leaders & only team to have beaten us this season. Adam was immense, putting in tackles, using his body superbly to win the ball back and doing the centre midfield enforcer role very well. Adam showed once again that he can create chances with a couple of sublime passes between defenders to put us one on one. We ran out 2-1 winners inflicting their first defeat of the season to secure a place in the league shield final.

It’s been notable this last few games how much Adam is working on his positioning, such is his desire for the team to perform & succeed, he used to try to be everywhere but with some guidance there is a real effort made and huge improvement in his positional play which both benefits the team and more so highlights Adam’s desire to improve.
Adam’s had a great month & to his credit he’s usually always the first one at training and games. What’s most pleasing about Adam is he’s always smiling, he’s really enjoying his football & that is showing in his games & in training. Keep enjoying your football Adam, that’s always most important - you’re performing really well & we’re impressed by how your game is developing
".

Izzy Falk (U13 Jaguars)
"Izzy has had a fantastic month helping to spearhead the Jaguars strong season. Traditionally an all-action winger, Izzy has switched to striker for a number of games and has been electric. Her work rate never gives the defenders a break and her form has led her to score bundles of goals for the team. As well as applying herself in matches - Izzy leads from the front in training. She is always keen to demonstrate drills and puts in 100% at all times. She has introduced a warm up this year which allowed the coaches to focus on setting up the session whilst her and the captain warm the team up. A fantastic month and season - Izzy really is spearheading the jaguars challenge for the title!"

Isabella Barry (U13 Lions)
"Isabella joined the Lions this year and made an immediate impression on her coaches with her technical quality and skilful play on the ball, which she uses brilliantly to unlock defences. More recently, she has also shown real resilience and bravery, consistently putting her hand up in challenging situations - something that has been key to the Lions’ development as a team. Isabella is also well loved by her teammates for her cheeky sense of humour, best exemplified by the delight she takes in nutmegging her coaches when they’re not looking!"

Niamh Tompkins (U13 Panthers)
"Niamh started the season as a strong and reliable defender, and willingly stepped up to play in goal when the Panthers’ goalkeeper left early in the season. Since then, she has grown confidently into the position, becoming a dependable presence between the posts and making some remarkable saves. Throughout March, Niamh produced a series of outstanding performances, making crucial saves that kept us in games. Her confidence in goal has continued to grow, and she has become an increasingly important part of the team".

Jack Forsythe (U13 Porto)
"Jack's performances this month show a player growing in confidence and attacking influence. His movement, pace to break through defences and improved composure have made him more clinical in front of goal. He's getting more shots away and is providing constant running up front. His calm finishing and powerful shots have seen him score three times, being in the right place at the right time to help the team".

Isla Gwilliam (U14 Lynxes)
"Isla has had a great month showing her defensive skills at right back. She has been working hard to improve her game and it has really shown in the last few weeks. She is a positive player, always smiling and she always tries hard at training. Her passing has been great and she's made some important challenges to stop the opposition scoring opportunities. Isla's efforts saw her awarded player of the match at the start of the month. She captained the team for the following match, stepping up with the positivity the team need. Well done Isla ".

Well done to all the nominated team player of the month - keep up the great work!
