Barca kicked off their 23/24 season with a tricky away fixture against local side, Stoke Hammond. My god was it hot for a late morning KO! All players were rotated throughout the game so no one overheated in the late summer blaze.

Barca started the match on the front foot, and throughout the game managed to regularly get into the opposition final third, only for the attack to fizzle out in the heat.

Better passing around the opposition box and the confidence to take a shot on goal is what we need to take from this first fixture, and into the rest of the season.

To be fair, Stoke Hammond were really effective on the break, and when the play broke down, they used the space in behind us and usually found their best player to drive forward into our box.

Big welcome to Barca's new signings - Oliver G, Oliver D and Joshua - who all did a great job in their first ever game for Barca.

PoM was Joseph who, as always, showed great composure and passing ability and played both in defence and upfront today. Well done, Joseph!
