Barca U10 were away at Stony Stratford today in a very late kick off in the warm autumnal sun. The pitch was in excellent condition and I just had a feeling that we were in for an exciting game! Barca have had a slow start to the season, but today every single player did a fantastic job against a solid Stony side who pushed us all the way to the final whistle.

The game had pretty much everything - great tackling, running, team work and determination - but it took an absolute screamer of a goal from Ayden to break the deadlock in the final mins of the game. Running at the Stony defence at pace, Ayden found the top corner from distance and in off the cross bar the ball went - much to the delight of the Barca players and supporters!

This is the kind of performance we need to build on and replicate in the next few games. Well done Barca! Every player was brilliant today in their application and mentality, but POM was Ayden. Not just for his excellent goal, but his athleticism throughout the game which caused Stony problems every time he got on the ball and moved forwards.
