After a run of good form,that’s seen Spartak rise up the table into second place, we were looking forward to the visit of unbeaten league leaders Aspley Guise to Cedars school.

Aspley have added some quick players to their forward line and we knew we’d have to match them up if we wanted to get a result from this game. First half was dominated by Spartak with Aspley only looking dangerous on the counter attack or at dead ball situations. Jack R had already had a goal chalked off before Luke jinked past two players and wrapped a right footed shot into the far post, beyond the keeper’s desperate reach.

For the rest of the game the boys played with great commitment and togetherness and should have added another goal or two as the defence and midfield completely snuffed out any threat that Aspley had.

End result was 1-0 to LG Spartak and once again all the boys should be proud of the performance today and I feel we’re really starting to click now and play the sort of football that I know we’re capable off.

Expectation wise, there are no expectations,
We’ll just take one game at a time and see where it takes us. If everyone gives 100 % every week that’s all we can ask of the boys.
