It was a scorching morning at fortress VanDyke as the Tigers welcomed last week's friendly opponents the Milton Keynes Lionesses.
The game kicked off in rather a slow manner with the Tigers seemingly still quite sleepy, this lead to a couple of quick chances for the Lionesses which Poppy dealt with excellently!
After 5 minutes, Carey unfortunately had to be substituted as today's match in the heat proved a little too much for her. This lead to the introduction of Noomi, who minutes later scored the first of her two goals.
Scoring the first goal seemed to wake the Tigers up and they now started to create chances including an exceptional double save by the Lionesses Goalkeeper. Just when it looked like the Tigers weren't going to score again before half time, up popped Noomi with her second of the match.
The beginning of the second half saw more changes by the Tigers, but this did little to change the flow of the match. Izzy Sharp was breaking up every Lioness attack, Noomi and Nyla were in control of midfield whilst Caitlin was a constant menace to the Lionesses.
Well done Tigers on a great start to the season in difficult conditions!
