5 Star Tigers impress in pre season!

(Many thanks to Coach, Luke, for the match report)

Saturday saw us welcome Milton Keynes Lionesses to Fortress Vandyke and what a performance we saw!

Right from kick off the trio of Marni, Carey and Nyla pressed the Lionesses high up the pitch causing panic at the back for the visitors. It was from these high presses that the Tigers scored their first two goals, both scored by Carey.

The visitors continued to fight back and but for a couple of alert saves by Poppy, they may have snuck back into the game!

The second period saw changes made and a debut for both Caitlin and D'arcy, these changes had no bearing on the pattern of the game and the Tigers continued to press and create chances. From one of these chances Caitlin was able to score her first goal and on her debut!

Half time 3-0 Tigers

The second half kicked off with further changes, Carey was now in goal and Poppy was in midfield.

The third quarter saw the visitors fight back, but for an excellent save by Carey and some stellar defending by Nyla and Jess the visitors may have scored more than the one they did.

The final quarter saw another change in goal as Caitlin took a turn wearing the gloves!

The visitors started the final quarter on the front foot and but for some excellent saves by Caitlin, they may have got back into the game.

Finally the Tigers clicked back into gear creating several chances, with Poppy, Marni and D'arcy driving at the opposition with the ball but seemingly a little anxious to pull the trigger, that was until Marni scored her first goal of the game riffling the ball into the top corner, her second then followed almost immediately which was the final action of the game.

Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic performance by all of the girls, one which they can all be very proud of!

Next weeks game see us play the same opposition in our first league game!

See you all at Fortress VanDykeny thanks to Coach, Luke, for the match report)
