A game with fine margins

There was not much in this at all. Porto will feel hard done by and left to rue not taking advantage when on top. They just needed some more inspiration going forward, as they were competitive, but unlucky, and can be proud of their efforts.

As the match headed for a stalemate it was fine margins which altered the scoreline. In a game of few chances Porto had the better of the opening exchanges. However, things didn’t come together today to execute what we normally do. The free-flowing options from defence to attack were limited with a lack of clear-cut chances.

Player of the match, James showed speed and determination throughout at the heart of defence or covering in midfield. Porto haven’t played for a month and maybe that played a part to close the game out in the final stages.

In this challenging season Porto remain committed to the cause. With games still to play this month and next they will get the chance to go again and continue their hard work. They will learn from this, and will create more chances in the coming games and hopefully they can be a bit more vocal.
